Lifeguards

Whether you’re a seasoned lifeguard or exploring the role for the first time, the ICRC provides a rewarding summer experience that fosters both professional and personal growth.

    • Responsible, reliable, and attentive.

    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

    • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification required (or willingness to obtain before the season starts).

  • a. Pool Safety and Supervision:

    • Monitor pool activity to ensure the safety of all swimmers.

    • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including administering first aid or CPR as needed.

    b. Facility Maintenance:

    • Perform routine pool area cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.

    • Assist with checking and maintaining proper pool chemical levels (training provided if necessary).

    c. Member and Guest Services:

    • Greet members and guests professionally and courteously.

    • Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment.

    d. Event Support:

    • Assist in staffing and overseeing special events (e.g., private parties) hosted by ICRC.

  • Summer employment: Mid-May through Labor Day.

Pool Manager

Are you a teacher or professional with the summer off? Step into a leadership role as a Lifeguard Manager with the ICRC and make a meaningful impact in your community.

    • Self-starter, reliable, thorough, able to work independently.

    • Ability to manage a team of 15-20 employees.

    • Capable of collaborating and taking direction from ICRC officers.

    • Preferred but not required: experience in management and pool operations.

    • a. Staff Management:

      • Supervise and manage high school-age employees.

      • Conduct interviews, hiring, work scheduling, and staff meetings.

      b. Pool Operations:

      • Maintain pool chemical balance and keep accurate records.

      • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning tasks.

      • Ensure safety and cleanliness of the pool facilities and surrounding grounds.

      c. Program Coordination:

      • Organize swimming lessons and coordinate appropriate staffing.

      • Oversee and staff all major ICRC events.

      d. Member and Guest Services:

      • Manage member and guest check-ins, including handling payments.

      e. Snack Shack Management:

      • Oversee snack shack operations, including supervising staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.

  • Summer employment: Mid-May through Labor Day.
